The
name of the Foundation is the “Central of Lunenburg Alumni Scholarship
Foundation”. The foundation is charted
with the state of Virginia and is recognized by the IRS as a charitable
organization (Section 501 (c)(3)).
The
purpose of the organization is to promote scholarships to graduating seniors
from Central of Lunenburg that plan on continuing their education at a college.
The
Foundation was formed by the class of 1967, the first graduating class from
Central, as a tribute to the dedicated teachers of Lunenburg County.
The
Foundation has 5 volunteer board of directors.
Other
Central classes are encouraged to establish a scholarship in their name.
